The SkyFrog Story
The name SkyFrog comes from Joe Vasquez, the founder of our tree service partner. The Skyfrog unit specialized in air and amphibious reconnaissance in the United States Marine Corps. Jason Lee met Joe at the University of Florida and helped out with the tree service early on. In 2009, Jason joined the SkyFrog brand by launching SkyFrog Landscape. Starting as one person, a truck, and a trailer, we now operate with over 40 team members, deploying 16 vehicles.
Based right here in Gainesville, our passion is to provide North Florida with an expert approach to landscaping. Serving residential and commercial properties, we are horticultural professionals and certified arborists who focus on high-quality work, clear customer communication, and dependability.

Jason Lee
Jason Lee is the founder of SkyFrog Landscape, a premier design, build, and maintenance firm based in Gainesville, Florida. As a respected landscape educator, Jason bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world industry excellence. A proud University of Florida alumnus (B.S. in Landscape and Nursery Management, 2007), Jason holds Florida Water Star and GI-BMP certifications. Since launching SkyFrog in 2009 as a solo venture, he has scaled the company to a team of over 40 professionals. His leadership earned him a spot as a 2024 UF Alumni 40 Gators Under 40 Honoree, and SkyFrog is a four-time Gator100 award winner. Jason’s philosophy is rooted in a horticultural approach: quality craftsmanship, transparent communication, and solutions tailored to North Florida’s unique climate. By employing certified arborists and fostering a culture of "sweating the small stuff," Jason ensures that every project—from initial consultation to long-term maintenance—reflects his commitment to expertise and customer trust.
Jennifer Hatch
Jennifer joined the SkyFrog Landscape team in 2021, bringing more than 10 years of experience in office management and administrative operations. She plays a vital role in keeping daily business functions running smoothly by managing Human Resources, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, coordinating monthly invoicing, and scheduling new customers. Jennifer’s strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer-focused approach help ensure both clients and team members receive consistent, reliable support. Her ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently makes her an essential part of SkyFrog’s operational success. Prior to joining the landscape industry, Jennifer built her professional foundation in healthcare administration, where she developed a strong understanding of compliance, communication, and process management. She has since developed a genuine passion for the green industry and enjoys being part of a team dedicated to enhancing outdoor spaces and customer experiences.
Bryan
Bryan has been with SkyFrog for 11 years and has worked in every department within SkyFrog. Bryan is certified in Green Industries Best Management Practices by the University of Florida’s IFAS program and a Hunter Certified Irrigation Technician. In his current position, Bryan leads all Commercial Installation and Maintenance estimating. His passion for landscaping and creating outdoor spaces make him a valuable member of the Green Industry.
Keith Thomas
Keith has been a valued member of the SkyFrog Landscape team for over eight years. As an Account Manager, he works closely with clients to coordinate projects, ensure clear communication, and deliver seamless service experience. His strong organizational and time management skills allow him to successfully manage multiple projects while maintaining SkyFrog’s high standards of quality and customer care. Keith is certified in Green Industries Best Management Practices through the University of Florida’s IFAS program, demonstrating his commitment to environmentally responsible landscape practices and industry excellence. Throughout his time with SkyFrog, he has gained hands-on experience working in every department, giving him a well-rounded understanding of operations, production, and client service. This diverse background allows Keith to anticipate challenges, develop practical solutions, and serve as a reliable resource for both clients and team members. His knowledge, dedication, and problem-solving ability make him an integral part of the SkyFrog team.
William Leland
Born in Gainesville, Florida in 1973 and raised nearby in Archer, Florida, Billy fell in love with landscaping while working for the school board in 1996. He says, “The best feeling is to look at a property post service to see all that you and your team have accomplished.” Billy believes that “every day at SkyFrog Landscape is wonderful, exciting, and very rewarding!” In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, his 3 dogs, and watching the Florida Gators play!
Ben Logan
Ben Logan brings over 30 years of experience in the landscape industry, with a background spanning nearly every role—from laborer and irrigation and lighting technician to foreman, project administrator, and business owner. He graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Agriculture & Natural Resources in 2002 and earned his Oregon Landscape Certified Professional (LCP) designation in 2005. That same year, Ben founded Logan’s Outdoor Enterprises, LLC, a full-service landscape company he successfully operated for 20 years in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. After relocating in 2023, Ben reconnected with the industry through Jason Lee’s Greenside Up Podcast and joined the SkyFrog Landscape team. Today, Ben serves as Operations Manager, providing experienced leadership and practical problem-solving across all projects. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his wife and three children, fishing, off-road motorcycling, and exploring new places.
Clayton Salome
Clayton Salome joined the SkyFrog Landscape team in 2025 and brings more than a decade of experience in the green industry. His professional roots began in College Station, Texas, where he graduated from Texas A&M University and launched his career as a lawn health technician specializing in fertilization and pest management for warm-season turf grasses—many of which are the same varieties used throughout the Gainesville area today. Clayton is an ISA Certified Arborist, Florida Water Star Certified, and holds multiple additional certifications in design-build applications across the landscape industry. As SkyFrog’s Design & Service Consultant for both residential and commercial clients, he is known for fostering strong client relationships and turning them into long-term partnerships. He is deeply passionate about continuous learning and education and enjoys sharing his knowledge with both clients and team members to enhance the beauty, performance, and functionality of every landscape he supports.
Tony Servance
Tony has over five years of experience in the landscaping industry and has grown alongside the SkyFrog Landscape team through hard work, leadership, and hands-on expertise. He began his career with SkyFrog as a crew member in the Landscape Management department and quickly demonstrated the dedication and work ethic that led to his advancement into his current role as Production Manager. In this role, Tony oversees daily operations, supports field teams, and ensures projects are completed efficiently while maintaining SkyFrog’s high standards of quality. His strong leadership skills and attention to detail help keep teams organized, motivated, and focused on delivering excellent results for clients. Tony is passionate about the landscape industry and takes pride in mentoring team members and fostering a positive, productive work environment. His commitment to quality workmanship and team success makes him a key part of SkyFrog’s continued growth and service excellence.
Erin Alvarez
Erin joins SkyFrog Landscape after two decades of experience at the University of Florida, where she served as a Faculty Lecturer with landscape horticulture and plant science teaching and extension appointments in the UF/IFAS Environmental Horticulture Department. From plant selection to long-term maintenance strategies, Erin’s goal is to ensure that our landscapes don’t just look great on day one, they thrive for years to come-along with our clients. A Florida native, long-time Gainesville resident, and triple Gator, Erin is a frequent speaker at educational programs and industry events, and is passionate about elevating the green industry across Florida. When she isn't on a job site, she’s likely sharing her love for plants and public landscapes with the local community or enjoying the outdoors with her family.
